LUCAS FACER & EMMA TUBBS

Tōrō

A tōrō — a traditional Japanese lantern — is at the heart of Lucas Facer’s  proposal for the Anise Workshop redevelopment.

Transforming the space itself into a tōrō using an innovation skylight and concertina curtain form, like a Japanese paper lantern, he will be working collaboratively with Emma Tubbs Studio to create a “highly adaptable”, “bright and playful” environment that is inspired by “artist Richard Wentworth, landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx and the motifs of abstract artist Jean Arp.”
